Hataishi Shuji Profile

Born in 1985, Saga Prefecture, Imari Nabeshima. Member of the Hataman Pottery, which was established 90 years ago. Working at the Imari Nabeshima Pottery, which has a historical background of furnaces from the Edo era, he has been taking on new challenges every day while being loyal to traditions as well.
After finishing his studies at the Tokyo Zokei University, he returned to his hometown Imari Nabe to enter the world of ceramics and pottery.
After graduating from the Arita College of Ceramics, in 2012 he joined the Hataman Pottery.
Ever since he has been devoting his studies to master the traditional techniques and improve them.
